lanzarote spends for a week

booked a last minute break to puerto del carmen have a budget of 200 euros a day for 2 adults and a 12 year old.
staying in a hotel self catering, so more than likely just cook our own breakfast then venture out, there is many fast food restaurants and cheap places to eat for snacks.

evening meal i see you can get a decent 2 or 3 course for 10 euros each too.
seems to be cheap to holiday there.

200 euros a day surely must be plenty not interested in 100 euro meals so should be ok ?
 
200 euros a day on Lanzarote is going to give you more than enough for all your food, drink, transport and attractions and more.

Things I can suggest if you havent been before:


Timanfaya - Volcano
Ceuva de los Verdes - Stunning underground cave system
Teguise Market on Sunday
Aquapark Costa Teguise
César Manrique's House and Museum
Famara Beach if you enjoy bodyboarding/surfing


Staying around Carmen will give you the calmer safer and clearer waters, with the habours and the more tourist / build up shopping areas.

Driving is, scary :) If you head out to see some of the more spectacular things it will often mean driving down some narrow, thin roads with locals who give no **** about whats coming. But taxis will usually do fixed faires to most places, and most of the larger touristy type attractions have multiple busses a day taking you there and back to central locations in Carmen. I have been 4 or 5 times now, and would go back again, I love the little Island.

thanks for all that info.

stayed a few years back at Puerto Calero now that was expensive, ventured into puerto del carmen 2nd to last day and could not believe how cheap things was and how much to do.
the mrs has mentioned about the volcano and the teguise market, the aqua park sounds great too.
will look at the rest in the list.

probably just over thinking it all, i guess somedays we wont even spend 200 euros so carry it over to the next day.

Just got back from Lanzarote, was amazing.

200 a day will be plenty. Rancho Texas is worth a visit and you'll be pretty close to it being in Carmen.
 
If you want a really good meal look for Mr Pasta up near the Casino. Looks like nothing special from the outside but the food is superb and the staff can't do enough for you. If you venture into the old town then My Kitchen Julius is another recommendation for a top notch meal. The mixed grill for 2 was truly massive - meat overload :D

mr pasta the reviews are excellent, thanks will check it out for sure.
 
Went 2 weeks self catering earlier in the year buying food from the supermarket was expensive like stupidly expensive beer and fresh drinking water are reasonably cheap

Eating out and drinks from bars prices was very reasonable to be fair

Wouldn't go self catering in Lanzarote again costs a hell of a lot more than all inclusive

Did you use an actual supermarket or a tourist one though?
 
Keep an eye out for cyclists, they will be slow up the long climbs and fly down the descents.

Catlanza catamaran trip from Puerto Calero is ace.
Go for a drive and explore.
El Golfo for lunch/dinner.
Dusty buggy off-road tour is great (from Calero also).

Just don't spend all your time in Carmen as it's quite boring and touristy.

I know I'm late but for anyone else thinking of going..

Take a walk along the path next to the beach to the end of the runway, them planes certainly get close.

We booked a full tour of the island when we went, covered all the landmarks mentioned in this thread.

Shout out for Rancho Texas, make sure to watch the bird shows and the dolphin show.
