I must put my Sandpaper on a flat service like glass etc. sellotape it down so it cant move then grab my Tuniq Tower with 2 hands and some how began to twist it on the sandpaper in a circular motion ??

I would have thought it would have been easier to sand it by hand

If you sand it by hand, you could end up sanding it at an able so it would still not be flat. (Might be wrong, never really looked into lapping properly)

Well I did my Thermalright U120A a few dasy ago but having checked it again last night the base is still slightly convex so am going to have to finish it off again. I also lapped my Q6600 last night and managed to get that uber flat. I just used 400 and 1200 grit, did the lapping in a circular motion with the 400 and straight line with the 1200.

EDIT: A few things I've noted are that the wet and dry should be taped to to the glass else the edges rise and you could end up with uneven edges on the HSF or CPU, and to change the paper after having used it for around 10 minutes. I normally cut the paper in quarters.
