Right I've just re-lapped my q9300, and i just cant get it to a mirror finish.

Ive used up to 2000 grit, and tried several techniques.
20 Vertical strokes then turn 45 degress seemed to wield the best results.
Its slightly mirrored but you can still see all the fine scrathes.

Is this still fine? Although my 2000 grit wasnt wet and dry, seeed to work ok though. Abit of compressed used along side it.
I use AS5

As long as its flat then it doesn't really matter if you can't get a mirror finish. It doesn't add anything other than looking good.

That's what i thought tbh yer its flat etc. Although i have heard AS5 needs 1500+ as its so fine?

What do people usually use to mirror it off? Higher grit/polish?

Wouldnt mind giving it a good old finish when i do my heatsink next.
