Hi, I've a desktop with duel display for my home office and having duel display is very handy, as you know.

I also have a laptop for an outside office too and am wondering, is there any way I could have two monitors connected to it, to let me have duel display on it as well :)

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a HDMI port on the laptop already? if so, then any USB-(A|C) adapter will work
Alternatively, if you have USB-C ports, then a USB-C hub with multiple video ports will work
Or, use your laptop screen and an portable laptop screen like the LG gram +view (cheaper versions exist)

Well, with the exact make and model of laptop we can only guess...

iGPU have been capable for ages but OEMs often don't wire them up. I remember recently being asked my opinion about a HP 470 G8 as a WFH laptop and being surprised that it only had one HDMI 1.4 port. No USB C Displayport, and to top that HP said their 1.4 port wasn't even capable of 1440P.

Yes, there is an HDMI, USB3 and USB-C port. Thank you.

The second product you mentioned is a splitter, and will direct signal to one device at a time, I don't think it will do what you want. Also, you aren't supposed to link to competitors here.

Overclockers does have at least one product that would enable an additional external display, although this might be overkill for what you need as it's a full dock:

The product you are looking for is an adapter rather than a splitter, e.g. USB-C to dual HDMI adapter (giving two additional external monitor connections).

What you need also depends on what inputs you have available on your monitor.

Oh.. sorry about that. Also, you aren't supposed to link to competitors here.

But wouldn't those only work if the USB-C actually outputs video.
That is a ThunderBolt type thing.

I say type as USB-C (especially DiplayPort over USB-C and PD), Thunderbolt, USB 4.0 are all far too complex a standard for things to just work even if they physically fit.

So ask the OP @Ynot once again, what make and model please?

Varies. Plenty of USB docks offer their own video outputs.

You need to work out what image transmission your particular USB Type-C output offers. See if it has Thunderbolt. Read this for starters:

Just to be clear, do you want laptop screen plus 1 external monitor, or laptop screen plus 2 external monitors?

If the former, then you just need to connect a monitor to the laptop via HDMI. If the latter, then you need an additional USB-C to HDMI or dual HDMI adapter (although adapters for other monitor connection types are available).

There are other possibilities, I'm assuming your laptop just has 1 HDMI and 1 USB-C output, but there are some futher possibilities for connectivity by use of different adapters to the above, or your laptop might have some further outputs, I couldn't find the tech spec for your laptop after a quick Google.

Thanks for your help, yes, I want the laptop screen plus 2 external monitors, so a USB-C adapter, as long as it has two HDMI ports and that will give me duel, sorry dual LOL displays.

I can't find anything in OC, perhaps I'm looking past it but I think I see something in the forrest that might work...
