Laptop and Gaming Mouse

Hi Guys,

Hope i am placing this is the right section. I have recently just purchased this gaming mouse from the site MX518 Gaming Grade Mouse. The problem is the mouse installs fine, but i cant get the assigned keys to work ingame? I have applied the keys to the mouse as FKEYS but nothing happens when in game? But when i am on the laptop and use the assigned keys it works? Is it due to the laptop having the FN Keys applied? Is there anyway of getting this to work? Dont really want to be wasting my money on a mouse with all these buttons if only i can use the scroll button lol.

I've used the extra buttons on my MX518 on my laptop fine.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by applying keys to the mouse as FKEYS, but if I want to assign one of the extra buttons to something in a game, I'll go to change the command and just press the button like I would any other key. The two side buttons appear as mouse 5 and 6 or something like that.

If that's what you have been doing, try installing the Setpoint drivers if you haven't already. I forget whether you have to to use the extra buttons, but give it a go if you haven't.

Thanks for the reply, The added buttons on the mouse i want to change these to f keys? f1 , f2, f3 ect. It allows me todo this and applications load up on the desktop but it doesnt work when in game? Now i have installed this on my Desktop PC and it works fine in game and desktop. Strange :confused:
 
Are you trying too apply macro commands for a game like wow or just trying to assign them in a game such as cod mw2. Dunno how the macro,s would work but you could just try assigning buttons to specific functions in the game options menu and cutting the fbuttons out of the equation completely
