Laptop Battery Care

Hi,

I've got a new laptop from work which has an extended Lithium Ion battery in it. It takes just over an hour to charge and lasts for about 9 hours, so I'm really impressed with it at the moment.

I want to keep the battery in good condition for as long as possible, what is the best plan for a lithium ion battery?

It used to be that you were supposed to run them down to a few percent and then charge all the way up, but I don't know what type of battery they were. All laptop batteries seem to die in the end.

I have a docking station with power in work, same at home.and a third cable to keep in my bag. I'm worried that having it connected to mains so much will ruin the battery?

Thanks!

Think the best thing for modern batteries is to have them plugged into the mains whenever you can because they wear with discharging and recharging iirc.
