Hi guys, i've only had the laptop about 4 months, and already the battery appears to be dead.

Only way i can get the laptop to turn on is to plug it into the mains. when in windows it shows the battery as having 19 % of level and charging. but when you turn the laptop on, nothing.

the laptop has only ever usually been plugged into the mains when we've needed to use it and the battery has run out, but did i read somewhere you arent have supposed to have laptops plugged in all the time ?

assuming i have knackered the battery, how much for a new one (its a Toshiba A100) or is there a way of charging the battery properly as leaving it plugged in atm doesnt seem to charge it.

If you've only had it 4 months you should be able to send it back under warranty and get it fixed.

there are loads of places that sell replacement batteries online have a look on google.obviously i cant tell you where :p but there vary in price etc
