Laptop / Cd drive problem.

My laptop wont autoplay cds and the drive doesn't show up in the my computer section.

Anyone got any ideas how to sort it out?
Could the drive it's self be broken?

Does the drive show in the BIOS?

I have a similar problem but my thread got over looked too, but mine was slightly different as I had to re-install xp with an external drive.

sounds like your drive is dead, unless it's infected
