Laptop Doesn't Always Power ON

I have this old thing that I try to refurbish with more ram and my old ssd to sell it.

But I ran into the problem.

It boots, but not always. Let me explain.

I press the power button, the button becomes blue, fans ramp up, screen turns on and it starts up, right?

But that doesn't always happen. The last part, screen stays dark. I power it down/unplug the cable. Plug it back in and try again. Sometimes it takes 2 tries, sometime 5x. Screen comes on eventually.

Updated it to latest BIOS version and newest chipset driver.

Any thoughts ?

Could be bad RAM, HDD failing, battery maybe? Any other signs?

S*** I forgot where I got the ram. I pulled it out of the laptop that had the same symptoms. Why didn't I thought about it earlier.
