Laptop drive...

hey, just wondering if it would be possible to connect a laptop 2.5" sata hard drive to my desktop computer to install software and repair the system as i could do it a hell of a lot faster with my desktop.

any thoughs.?

just dont want to plug it in and it go bang it it has a lower power consumption to my pc sata power cable etc..

SATA ports on laptop drives are the same, just plug and go

Simple answer is yes it will work however the speed of the pc will make little to no difference, its the speed of the hdd thats slowing things down the most, and that wont change by plugging it into a desktop.
