Got a sata 80gb Laptop drive,

Just wondering if i can connect it to my pc like a normal drive?

Just want to format the drive in order to sell it on.

Thanks

Is it a PATA/IDE drive or a SATA one?

The PATA/IDE drives need a converter to be connected to a PC.

The SATA one's i'm not sure of due i don't own a laptop with a SATA drive. :(

If it is (2.5") SATA then "yes" you can use it as an internal HDD on a desktop (as connections same as 3.5" SATA HDD), however if it is a PATA then "no" as (already mentioned) the connections are different from the 3.5" PATA HDD and requires a converter...

Yeah its a Sata one.

Is it possible to buy something for it to sit in - making it a portable external hard drive.
As 80gbs is ideal for me to transfer my videos etc around
