laptop external graphics solution

hi does anyone know the exact components needed to build an external graphics card to enhance my acer aspire 5735, it has an express card 54 port on it, i have seen 2 main ways pe4h/pe4l, besides buying a ready made solution it would be a good project for me to buy and build entirely from scratch.. thanks
