Laptop for college student

Hi there,

My lil sister has recently begun college and, at the last minute, was informed she needs a PC at home to do work on. Unfortunately there's just the shared PC in the living room but this isn't suitable, and she ain't having my gaming PC to do it on

Can anyone recommend me a laptop that's pretty cheap and will do the job? All it is really is MS Office 2016 and a few other low utility applications but I've never actually bought a laptop before.

Any I3, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD.

Try Dells outlet, refurbished with full warranty.

Any of the entry level 13” screen Dell or HP laptops will be fine - MiSJAH’s spec is bang on.

Make sure she doesn’t get one with Norton or McAffe bloatware installed - if she wants extended warranty, get the one offered by the manufacturer, not the rubbish offered by Currys/PC World.
