Laptop for University

Hi all, I'm off to uni in a few weeks and am looking for a mid low range laptop. I have a maximum buget of around £550, and with that am looking for around a 15 inch screen, and a graphics card that will be be good enough to play things like Half Life 2 Deathmatch and TF2 on mid settings.

Does anyone know of anything that will fit the bill? I looked on Dell's site and manged to get something for around £500 with a Ati Mobility HD4570, but theres very little info on that card out, with no benchmarks.

Any ideas??

Dell would probably best value for money, but as you say, not much info on the graphics card.

I just got an Acer5536G. It has the graphics card that you mentioned above and is within your price range. My first impressions are:

# there is a lot of software installed that you do not want
# the touchpad is not the best (I use a mouse anyway)
# The keyboard is nicely laid out, especially the numeric keys on the right

Perhaps not too helpful, i have barely scratched the surface. Which incidentally is very shiny and probably scratches easily.

Anyway about the graphics, I found this webpage very useful:

Your HD4570 appears under the "class2" section, click it for the benchmarks. For your price range I doubt better graphics are available.
