Next to the ketchup...
Right got myself a laptop the other day, mainly for downloading and going on the t'internet, but also fancy doing a spot of gaming on it, now it has only got the pooey onboard graphics, have been playing warcraft3 for a bit on it and it runs fine, but i fancy some other games.

Now my gf wants to play on the lappy as well, and she has recently got into games like WoW, now i know the lappy wont play anything that good, but I was thinking of other games like Baldurs gate...

Anyone else got any ideas on games that dont need a lot to run?

The rest of the lappy is pretty good specs just not got a decent gfx card.. On a side note, anyone know what sort of cost are involved in upgrading the graphics on a laptop? or is it not worth the hassle?

Impossible, unless the laptop has MXM and you can find available videocard that is designed to be a replcement for that laptop.

Games that you can play will depend on the IGP/dedicated card. If you want a new laptop need to spend £800+ on a gaming laptop.

I thought as much lol, o well didnt buy it for gaming.

The rest of the specs are,

Processor - Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T5600 1.83 GHz 2 MB L2 cache 667 MHz front side bus

Chipset - Mobile Intel® 945GM Express

Memory - 1 GB (533 MHz) DDR2 SDRAM

Hard Drive - 60 GB (5400 rpm) SATA

Optical Drive - DVD+/-RW SuperMulti with Double Layer

And all the other normal bits, got a silly little finger print reader as well which is quite a good laugh, tried using my toe on it but it wouldnt work...

My gfs computer with onboard graphics runs wow fine at 1024x768 with the detail turned down. Still looks nice.

What sort of specs are the machine? Does it run well or does it lag like hell most of the time?

A64 3000, gig of memory (had 512mb before), some sort of nvidia onboard graphics card, onboard sound. Graphics are on medium with no AA or AF but it still looks nice because of the way the world is designed. Doesn't lag at all because it shares a decent broadband connection.

Just got given this link

Was quite handy tests for loads of other games as well, told me I meet all the minimum specs and the majority of the recomended specs, well I'm going to be on an 8meg bb connection, so might have to find the discs out and give it a test.

going to stick NOX on later and see how that plays, love that game lol, and might pick up baldurs gate compilation tomorrow.

Been recomended Neverwinters nights but nevr played it, good game or not?
