decided to treat my Dell latitude c460 to a nice new wd800 scorpio hdd.
having taken the old drive out, i now see the back of the drive is different
(see pic)
i checked the specs of the old drive and the only thing i can see different is that it is 4200rpm, but the interface still says ata100. so i'm not sure about what i should be looking for.
the scorpio does actually fit all the way into the drive bay
without any pins being bent or anything so i'm wondering if it matters. but beeing a lappy n00b, i'n not sure.
when the laptop boots with the new hdd, it says, not bootable device found.
i tried to load windows on, but the windows cd informs me there is no device attached to install to.
