my mates laptop has packed up badly, the hard drive seems good though and i need to get the data off.. how easy is it to get a laptop hard drive (dell) as a slave on a pc?

i don't know the make or model, early P4 dell is all i have.

Should be a standard laptop hard drive in there, in which case its a job of taking it out of the laptop and then getting the laptop harddard to IDE adaptor (you can pick them up easily enough) and its deteced as a standard IDE drive.

Should be pretty easy to find, you need a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter and they ought to be pretty cheap, certainly not more than £10 which isn't all that much to pay to save your/his data :)

I'm actually using one of those right now :P

Looks rather cheapo, cost less than £5, and i only use it occasionally. Works fine. Can get one from ebay. Just configure it as you would a normal 3.5" IDE drive.

Looks like 4 lines to me..

Formatting gives you 7 lines, it is different when you are typing it in the User Control Panel as the box is wider but it is definitely 7 on my screen and on others it seems. Maybe try making it size 1? :)

//edit Ok just checked your screenshot and it is 4 there somehow but definitely still 7 here. At a guess it may be something to do with using Firefox compared to IE?

That's because your text is uber tiny. Try increasing your text size in firefox and it soon spills over into 7 lines.

Well thats stating the obvious, the same would apply for anyones text sig. Its set to 'normal' so i cant see where the problem is.
