laptop hard drive replacement

i have a hp omnibook xe4100 and it currently has a 30gb hard drive.I was thinking about purchesing a 120gb hardrive for it.Would this work on this laptop sumthing like a Fujitsu 120GB MHV2120AH 2.5" 5400RPM 8MB Cache HDD? The laptop is pretty old thats why i am not sure what size hard drive it can handle.

The general rule used to be you could use a drive of 3x the original size normally without problems however it wasn't a hard and fast rule as I replaced a 10gb hard drive with a 40gb one without issues. I'd say you are as well to try it anyway, the difference in price between the drives is fairly small so even if you get say 80gb out of it then it isn't a huge loss.

i think i will give it a go like you said if i get 80gb still better then 30gb lol
