I have an old Toshiba S1410-303 and the HD is failing. The one in it atm is 20g but I would prefer to fit a larger one.
Does anyone know if there are any HD capacity restrictions or would I need to replace it with one of the same size ? Recommendations would also be good.

Thanks.

Contact Toshiba and ask what the largest capacity hard drive that model supports, and check for updated BIOS. I had a Acer 270 with a 20GB and fitted a 60GB. 80GB worked fine too. But you don't want to buy a large drive to find it won't fully detect 100% capacity. Do you have access to any other laptop hard drives? I tested a 80GB on mine before fitting the 60GB
