Laptop Overclock

My laptop has a Core 2 Duo T2330 1.6GHz processor, which I would like to overclock, preferably without changing the voltage. I've overclocked Core 2 Duo processors on desktop machines before without changing any voltages, but never a laptop.

What I'd like to know is if I do OC it without changing the voltage, will my battery life be reduced?

Yes mate, the battery will be reduced - because it needs more juice to run the overclock. Im not sure if you would be able to overclock laptops , mainly because of the bios - unless its a gaming laptop.

What you want to be careful of if you do though, is overheating.

I think once you need to overclock the laptop - you need a new laptop. Thats why I always recommend to my customers spending a bit more money on a slightler higher spec so they would avoid this issue a bit more longer.

Hmm... I just ran CPU-Z and it reports that my CPU is running at almost 70 degrees C when I stress test with Prime95. Maybe I should avoid that OC ^_^

Thats why I wouldnt risk overclocking a laptop, because of the closed enviroment theres a lot of heat buildup.

Watercooled laptop anyone?

When I hear about overclocking laptops I cringe.....

Most barely have enough cooling at stock voltages and speeds. If you really want more performance i'd get a desktop or invest a bit more in a more powerful laptop.
