My charger is 20v 3.25a but it broke.

I have another adapter that says Output 18-24v 5/6a, and then underneath says Typical output 24v 5a.

I'm not really sure what the manufacturer means, it it safe to use on 18-24v sources? Would there be any harm in trying?

I'm not sure about this but I think the thing that matters most is the amps but don't quote me if I'm wrong.

Its not ok to use a 24v supply for a 20v but since your adapter says
18-24v its possible thats it is adjustable look for some switch like in the pix below to adjust the output voltage.

It depends on how the incoming voltage is regulated by the laptop to what effect having a slightly incorrect voltage would be.

Some Site I Found said:
Check the Voltage compatibility (V)

If the voltage of the charger is too high then it can damage your Laptop (although most laptops now include protection against this), if it is too low then it will not provide sufficient power to your laptop. You should check to see if the Laptop Charger can provide the correct voltage for your laptop. Universal Laptop Chargers normally have a manual switch or an automatic voltage selection.

It's so easy to shove the wrong charger into a laptop, especially if you have several kicking about.
