Laptop problem

I have an advent 7093 laptop, one day the screen just turned itself off so all I get is a black screen. I know the laptop is on because the power light is on when I power the laptop up. The laptop is only a couple of months old so I don't know what the problem could be.

Any ideas?

The power to or the connection to the screen is bust.

You will need to get repair/replacement/refund under your warranty.

Not much you can do to fix a laptop really, you did not change the resolution or refresh rate did you?

No display even on post?

Have you tested it using an external screen? If it has the capability for external display.

If it is coming on, does it reach windows and make the noise even though there is no display?

Of course you have made sure that the laptop is actually set to use the LCD.
You didn't press FN+F5 (or whatever your laptop uses) to turn the display to an external monitor did you?

Hi

It's quite possible that the back light has gone. Expensive to fix if you can, but as you say the laptop is only a few months old it is probably still under warranty

It's still under warranty so been sent back to the shop to get fixed, looks like it was the back light.
