laptop problems

hi

im having big problems with my laptop, it keeps locking up when turning on and then randomly locking at other stages , i basically can not use it?

im trying to re-install windows xp as i did have it on vista but when i can get to the xp install stage it again just locks up while installing.

could this be some sort of hardware problem?

im really lost :confused:

ive just turned it on and so far its installing xp ok , but yesterday it was locking up every 2 minutes?

could it be heating problem

if i can install xp ok , i may attempt to update the bios and check the ram maybe?

thanks will try that if it does'nt jam ive just updated bios but still seems to jam up but i have at least managed to get xp installed

hi again

well so far after getting xp back on and up to date its running fine.

my only problem is everything is a bit laggy since i changed the resolution?

hi guys

in the end the lag was caused because i had forgot about installing my graphics card driver , all ok now

ive got my laptop up to date now and all seems good ,the lockups seem to have gone , so dont really know the cause of that?
