Hi guys
joined in the vane attempt that someone might be able to help me out.
I have an Asus A2500D laptop and I think the little board which the screen plugs into is bust. The laptop was dropped, but no damage was done other than a small crack in the bottom housing. The laptop still worked fine and the screen was ok too.
I stupidly took the board out, and fixed the crack, but when I turn the lappy on, nothing appears on the screen and it just does one long beep and shuts off. I can find nothing on the net about these laptops and the manual is rubbish too. Sometimes though, the laptop does boot but the screen is incredibly dark and hard to read. You can just make out the windows log on screen.
This board, that the monitor plugs into, also houses the power button which does not work but the LEDs for the HDD and power are here too and they do work, there is another seperate button at the front of the machine which you can use instead to turn the laptop on.
So if no one has any ideas or links I can look at, can they suggest a reliable laptop repairer. I'm thinking about going the whole way and getting them to replace the cracked case with a new one too. I really like this laptop and it would be a shame to ditch it.
Thanks and soz for long post
