Hello!
I have an aging Dell Inspiron 14z and this afternoon turned it on (having not used it for a few weeks) to find some strange screen issues. The screen has 'strange' colours with the main component being a sort of neon blue/aqua colour. After a while I realised (using Paint) that the red colour component is missing (red appears black) which is obviously having a knock-on impact on other display colours.
I have identified that this is a hardware issue as the problem is also apparent in the BIOS. I have not yet been able to connect an external display to determine if the issue is in the graphics card or display/cable. Should the issue be the graphics card I assume that this is a whole new motherboard job due to the on-board graphics.
Has anybody had this issue before and have any advice? I want to balance the time and cost of attempting to repair this against buying a replacement...
Thank you.
