Laptop screen replacement

Hi there,

I've been given a laptop to see if I can fix it for a mate, IIRC he dropped it and the screens been like this ever since:

The internals all seem to be working fine, It's a fairly old laptop (Centrino, Toshiba Sat L300 - 18D, PSLB0E.

Would buying a new screen for £80 work fine? Or could the graphics chip be damaged on the board?

should just be the screen you could plug an external monitor in though.

It is very unlikely to be the graphics chip. A new screen will probably fix the issue looking at it.

Cheers fellas, I plugged it into my monitor (Forgot I could do that! lol)

It worked fine

I'm confident at building, upgrading PC's etc but I've never replaced a Laptop LCD.. Is it fairly strait forward?

Look on youtube and you should find a tutorial, I did my brothers and it was a bit of a nightmare but got it done.
