Laptop selection

Hello, I'm going to University in a couple of weeks and my current acer laptop is now ready to be renewed

Although I have no idea where to start looking! I want a fast running, thin and lightweight laptop, with a 13-14 inch screen. It seems that this is shaping up to be an "ultrabook". What are your opinions on these? And does anyone have an suggestions on a laptop like this? I'm looking to spend from £500-£700 I found the HP SPECTRE XT 13-2301ea Ultrabook looked very nice but it slipping out of my budget and I don't know what to look for in the specs to find value for money.

Get one from 'The Outlet' (am I allowed to mention that) probably not.

Can get a decent 1080p screen 13" ultrabook for around that price

although doing a search it seems everyone talks about the Dell outlet so there we go I've mentioned where to go.

it's seems there all refurbs on there and older stuurrrff

Can find some real bargain refurbs on there, still come with a warranty. Have to be quick though, all the 1080p 256gb SSD ultrabooks fly out.

Most of the ones that say refurb are cancelled orders that have actually never been taken out of the packaging. They add new stock at certain times and you can get an XPS 13 with i7-3667U, 8gb ram, 256gb SSD and 1080p screen for about £720 at the moment if you time it right. Same spec with an I5 is about 680.

Is that inclusive of VAT cos I always see a bargain then forget I have to add 20%
