just after some advice on sleeves if i may, trying to find one that is a nice fit for this:

was initially thinking the belkin neoprene 15.6" ones however i fear they may be a bit too big and i wanted more of a snug fit.

i also like these which are designed for macbooks but think they may be slightly too small:

anyone got any recommendations?

I dont have any other recommendations but I would buy the belkin one anyway as they're dirt cheap, if it doesnt fit as well as you can live with then you haven't lost much.

The problem with the macbook sleeves is because theyre designed for apple they're 3 times more expensive so its a bit more of a gamble. The ones you have linked should fit your laptop as neoprene stretches a fair amount. I have a 15.6 belkin sleeve and it stretches 5cm in both directions at a push. The problem is the zipper part wont stretch so you might end up with a slightly deformed case as your laptop is 2cm wider
