Laptop Suggestion

Hah - I hit that point.

Think I will just upgrade my rig at home and get a cheap laptop. I can then set up a VPN and use remote desktop and SSH to do what I need. Gaming on a lappy isn't a priority for me.

I started looking and the specs got higher along the price. I watched loads of YouTube videos and a lot of the max-q laptops were loud and hot. Think I’ll skip this gen.

My next laptop myself will be an alienware, just need to get a job that gives big bonuses to pay for it :P

Yeah, I was at the £1700 mark to get what I wanted. The best compromise would be a Clevo build at £1200-ish but they are loud under load (unacceptable at work) and the battery life isn't great, so I decided against it.

Will probably see if I can cadge an old laptop from work and use that for now. I'll look again when cooling and battery solutions are better. :)

I just ordered an Alienware m15 from the outlet. 22% off inc coupon and TopCashback.

I’m not a huge gamer but I wanted a compromise in size and weight. This is my 3rd Alienware laptop.

Ah, still would put them out of rach for me, if I ever get a new laptop I refuse now to go with chips soldered to the motherboard.
