Hi all, I'm having a problem connecting my laptop to a wireless internet connection and am hoping someone can help.

Laptop is connected wirelessly to a Belkin modem/router which is connected to a desktop via ethernet. Both PCs run XP.

Whenever I boot the laptop it detects and connects to the router without a problem, full bars but won't connect to the internet, i.e. "limited or no connectivity".

If I then open network connections, right click on the connection and repair, the laptop can then access the internet without a hitch.

This happens each time the laptop is booted.

Desktop has no connection issues.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Ok, so this is not a major disaster, more of an annoyance, and you just want the laptop to work straight away.

My suggestion would be this - view the Properties of the wireless connection on first boot up, then repair the connection, then look at the Properties again and try and work out what has changed, then make these settings changes.

To View Wireless Card Properties:

Control Panel / Network Connections / Right Click Wireless Network Connection, Properties / Should then see name of your Wireless Network card and a Configure button / Click the button to view the properties
