I have a HP Compaq nc8220 Laptop which has a Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Wifi card onboard, I have done a search for wireless networks and it isn't finding my Linksys Wifi router. The router is setup using WPA2, could this be why? If not am I missing something simple? Wireless is enabled on the laptop and the wireless is working fine on the router for my PC.

More information?
Are the close together? It's not a range issue is it? I know that My Asus has an intel adaptor and it picks-up less networks than my Sister's LG with I don't know what adaptor.

Anyway, you should be able to see it; just not use it without the key.

They are about 2 metres apart at the mo, I havent checked the wireless is definately working on the laptop yet so maybe I should check that

It's always possible that you have the adaptor off to save power.
I know that mine is off be default because it sucks through the batteries (as does bluetooth).

Are you using the intel software to control it or the windows controls?
Doesn't make much difference I know...

Nah it is on, I do a scan and it doesn't find anything. I'm using the windows software, would the Intel software help?
EDIT: it's working, now, you were right, it wasn't on. I had it enabled but not the power button on the laptop itself. Thanks for the help.
