Hi, I have a 6510b business laptop and to fix the noisy fan issues I recently updated the bios. I usually keep the laptop here in a docking station.

Since upgrading bios some of the dock usb ports no longer work correctly. I have to unplug/replug to get them to work on startup.

Also i noticed that the laptop will not hibernate now. Also when I go to shutdown it seems to go through all the windows shutdown and then stay powered on. Eventually it will give a BSOD.

Any ideas what the story is with this?

Yeah the bios was definitely for the correct model. It was updated using one of those apps that flashes bios from within windows i.e. all fully automated.

I will check power saving options in bios for any clues.

The usb ports all work if they are plugged into the laptop itself but when connected to the dock they don't work unless i unplug/replug. It only seems to affect some ports though and includes the mouse and also a serial/usb adapter.
