Hi

What do you guys think are better, the XPS 15, Inspiron N5110 15R or the Asus K53SJ. Looking for a laptop for uni and a bit of gaming. The specs are as follow:

The new xps range is very nice indeed. I've had to take an xps17 apart at work because of liquid damage and can say they are very smart/well assembled. That being said asus make good machines too, but it seems quite pricey.

Out of those three i'd recommend the xps. However are you definitely sure you want to limit yourself to those three?

Bear in mind portability is an issue at that screen size, and battery life wont be ground breaking on any of them. Also remember you qualify for the higher education discount from apple. (You may not want a mac, but i thought i'd mention it incase they had been dismissed for being out of budget).

Also, what about a netbook+desktop? Then you have one machine for battery life+uni work, and a machine to get some gaming done on. it will likely end up over budget, but its food for thought.
