Can you buy laptops with XP instead of the frankly sick inducing Vista? They all seem to be vista.

But anyway, if you want compatibility and reduced bugs from the start then yes - stick with XP. But Vista is running well for me and already there have been far more stable drivers out there from hardware/software vendors.
I guess the main point here is don't slate Vista because in due time I'm sure you'd be using it as soon as support is taken away from XP.
There are quite a few older model laptops which still have XP Pro available... but I'm sure the newer Santa Rosa laptops were developed with Vista in mind. A few HP laptops offer XP alternatives.
