Large (75"+) UHD TV's... anyone?

449 for a 55 W809C is indeed a bargain :)

I'd love to see how 70+ inch TVs arrive

when my ZT60 I got a phone call from the "Courier" - checking I was in and asking where I'd like the pallet to go ! - pallet ?!

well that is a flagship panny plasma, i'd expect no less tbh.

the ZT60 is a tv that there is no huge upgrade path from apart from a 4K OLED.

I'll face a similar issue when my GT50 dies to go 1080p OLED or 4K OLED.

The W809 is for the wife. She keeps leaving static images on the plasma

the new 77'' LG OLED, that is if you can afford it, i'll be getting the much cheaper 65'' version.

this is the only tv worth considering if you're upgrading from a Panasonic PLASMA and you have the money for it......... the trouble is, other TVs are either the same as Plasma or not as good.

yes once you get over 55'' you're on to hiding to nothing, the prices rocket through the roof...

but the poster wants better than a Panny plus at 4K, so he's limited to either a Panny OLED, an SUHD, or an LG OLED.

but you might be able to find a really large SUHD going cheap on Ebay, because i found loads last year

yes you'd have to be careful of the seller, it will have to be a well known retailer only.........and a proper LG Refurbished tv

This is the problem I face. I'm used to perfect blacks... and everytime I see any friiends TV's they're always a bit washed out... and I'm thinking if I dont' go OLED, am I gonna take a step back?

I've already got a 1080P projector in the room on a 100", I just want a TV now that is at least 79"

buy an OLED then however anything over 55" and you will be bent over.

if you want extra premium sizing them you have to be extra premium pricing.

55" is where it's at currently. stupid to buy any bigger. buy more regularly is the answer.

e.g.

spend £3500 on a 65" OLED today.

or spend £1300 on a 55" OLED today. then in 4-6 years time get a 65" oled for £1500. total outlay £2800 but on 2 great tv's. outlay in first option is £700 more but for 1 tv.

anyone wanting bigger than 55" should know they need to pay a premium as currently that is the size to go for in the bang for buck states in the large panel market.

Looks like I'm going to have to take a hit on the black levels I think if I want to go large. Demo room time I think... simple as that. Cheers for replies people.

don't do it :)

I've borrowed my Sons 42 inch Panasonic LCD - its a few years old but was raved about when released - has a VA panel so very deep blacks (for a LCD)

but as soon as I put any content on it - the black levels and overall dynamic range are immediately apparent (not in a good way) compared to the Plasma :(

Nearly most LCD sets has a tint through the blacks. Blue-ish/magenta looking purple. More so 0 black.
