Ok, for a long time now ive just been using cds to do backups of the critical files on my hdd, but my hdd is growing so fast that cds are just too small to handle the data i need to backup. So, what are my choices of a good, reliable backup.

the only choices i can see are: external hdd (which seems to be expensive if i want to back up more then my own pc). a tape drive (which seems to be too slow from what i hear (multiple hours to back up/restore)) or one other solution i found is the iomega rev drive, Which takes cartridges that store 35gb (90 compressed), i can get an external one and multiple cartridges to back up multiple pcs.

i couldnt find much usefull info on which out of these is the best, so any input would be very welcome.

no1 knows anything about a good way to backup lard ammounts of data or can provide help of if the backup methods i suggested are any good/bad?

As a though how about a removable caddy and a hard HD - in terms of cost caddy is under £20 and bare drives are fairly cheap.

Vantec EZ Swap MRK-103F removable HDD rack (PD-001-VT)

I have a couple of the ones with the display, only problem is there are ide unless they do sata ones now.
