I need to ship something to the Netherlands that is quite long. I need a box that is 100x50x50cm but companies sell boxes as sets and cost anywhere from £70-150+.

I only need one box, am I out of luck?

Stanley knife, multiple large boxes (as large as you can find - go to your local supermarket and ask them) bubblewrap and copius amounts of brown tape = just make your own ghetto box?

Make one up out of other boxes, what we do when shipping something that doesn't fit and it's popular with some of our suppliers to fit more than 1 box in a box so to speak to save on courier fees.

This works, and it what I tend to do.. Hack the box to suit the (bubble wrapped) item. Duck tape for strength.

The rainforest sell boxes (yes, empty ones, you dont need to order stuff for a box!)

If you are doing an order the bigger Amazon pantry boxes are a fair size and fairly robust - though not sure they do one as big as the OP wants.
