Large Case Needed!

Nice one Yewen!

I was going to try and get a Sheet Metal worker to copy me the cage i had for the Lian Li PC37, this would be perfect :)

Now to find a seller....

Edit: Found one, well known electronics store that has just opened around the corner from me! Nice one :) Cheers Yewen

Hrmm... I kinda like it, but id rather have Both. Them up the top is ace, cos im my old case all up there was just wasted space. So putting them up there for me is good.

Would like the option of having them down the bottom as well, like you say. Just sell the cages seperatly would be fine with me :)

Well... i decided to start today on trying to fix the Racks to the bottom of my case. All was going well, til i snapped the drill bit!!

I got the four holes drilled in the bottom of the racks, so i can fix them to the bottom of the case. I then managed to get one hole drilled at the bottom of the case, was just starting the second, bit of violent shaking later and kerping!! Drill bit snapped :(

Have to wait til B and Q is open now tomorrow to carry on.

Im half tempted to try and get thise fixed together somehow so i can just rest them on the bottom of the case, instead of fixing them.... The Chieftec case in one sod of an arse to drill!!!

I think the Chietec could be sold as a Nuclear Fall Out Shelter for pigmies... would be indestructable! :)

For now, ive mad a temp cage using the old Lian Li PC50 removeable HDD cage.

Loosk great dont it? lol

Bit warped at the top, but that will get squeezed back in when i get some HDDs in there. Thankfully the Lian Li Cage already has two holes drilled, so i just need to get the ones in my case done.

Looking on Screwfix Direct, they have a "Cone" drill bit that i think will do me fine!

Pricey tho :(

Edit: Thanks and Thanks, i want another monitor exact same cos it will look sweet! Just waiting for price to drop :)

Well, after looking at the case im going to have to cut the motherboard tray :/

If i want to be able to add/remove HDDs without having to remove the cage, the Motherboard tray will be in the way. It stretches all the way front to back, so will stop me.

ive got a dremel so im going to have to start hacking that :)

Ive got all the tools ready, im just pondering if when i start using the Dremel it will cause sparks... i really CBA taking the Mobo and everything out so was hoping it wouldnt spew sparks all over the motherboard, what ya think?

I could cover it with paper or something, but then that would probably go up in flames! lol

I have lots of ideas, i just have very low motivation :) Hope to start it either this afternoon, or tomorrow...

Well, i tried with a dremel and i need better blades. Got some off ebay so will give that a try.

I mounted the Cage, and its got to HDDs in there at the mo. Will get some pics up tomorrow if i manage to get the Motherboard tray cut. its a tuff little bugger, thats for sure!!

DAmn, he beats my record of 6 drives so far :(

This case i got does have space for 3 fans blowing over the HDD, and then being exhausted at the back with the supplied fans. Over all i think the temps are fine, full load i get CPU temps (1800XP OC'd to 2ghz) at 41, with case temps around the 30 mark.

Its a little noisy, but next pay day im going to get some quieter, 11db fans.. Will Scarifice a bit of CFM, but i dont think it will make that much diff.
