You put a towel around it...Turned it on, let it heat up so it then melted the glue or something so it theoretically 'fixed' itself...

proper rroad is caused by warping of the gpu because the chipset got too hot, it can't be fixed except through replacement of the chipset.

The "towel trick" fixed a certain type of RROAD because the solder used by Microsoft was cheap and nasty. The Towel restricted airflow, raising the temp. inside the box, causing the failed solder to melt, and if you were lucky, making contact again. Get your coat
