Hi,

I have had a request to produce an image size of 1692.75mm x 562.25mm @ 300 dpi. The reason for this is that this is quarter of a banner.

Doing the maths, that's a image size of 19993px x 6641px

Given that the max res on my camera is 6000x4000px, is this possible?

Do I just resize the image in PS with the enlarged dimensions?

Hope that makes sense.

You are going to have to stich multiple,p hotos together for that resolution. Will be easier if you rent a medium format camera.

But I would question if they really need 300dpi for a banner, seems unlikely.

You could try up-resing it in photoshop?
Someone did it for me once a while back and it came out very well.

I'd imagine that it won't be a problem at all upscaled to that size.

1: People are unlikely to be looking at it with their noses inches from the banner, are they? (and if they are, sneak up on them and clout them with a length of 3x2! :D )

2: Also, I expect the banner surface itself won't be "accurate" to 300dpi to receive the printing.

Finally, have a look at the article here (http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/article_pages/14m_pano_print.html) by Keith Cooper about making a huge print, where he settled on 108ppi output.

They don't

The reason for this is that this is quarter of a banner.

The specs are for the original images, the banner will be four times the original size so the banner will be 75px

Looks like stitching is the only option.

Thank you all for your replies :)
