LARGE SAPPHIRE DELIVERY ARRIVING

Am I right in thinking a single 5850 is better than a single 5770 vapour X.
Would the corsair 650 PSU have enough juice for 2x 5850 also ?

The price on that 5850 is very tempting, so close to clicking Buy :)
 
Single 5850 would be a fair bit better than a 5770, the Vapor-X is just a custom cooler under it all, and from what I've seen the 5XXX series probably don't require it as the stock keeps it cool and is pretty quiet.
 
Will order when I get home probably, I'm going to get the motherboard from an alternative site

Hope you can live with yourself Phil, scare mongering me into buying :D

These prices still feel a bit daft for me, not sure how much longer I can hold off buying up my new parts, looking more like a 5770 not a 5850 will be my next card.

Indeed, i find it amusing how the cards are actually increasing from the RRP price. What RRP stands for now is anyones guess....

WOW another price increase and people are willing to pay it and they are going up again. I'll bet people will still buy them, not l my 4890 still serves me well not in no hurry to upgrade. So l'm missing out on the latest eye candy, big deal always bought ATI over the last few years. As their GFX Cards sold at a fair price, now Nvidia are not in the running for one reason or another they are all adding their bit on hiking the price's up yet again and again.

The 5xxxx series cards are a cracking bit of kit, but greed has taken over and they are giving every one the two finger salute. Even are spineless leader is taking his cut VAT back at 17.5%, just checked the price of both 5850 / 5870 USA about $310 / $400 about £191.83 / £247.52 > UK 5850 / 5870 about £250 / £360 and we have been told they are going up again. :eek:

WE have plenty no problems at all. Just waiting for the monitor to arrive.
 
Hehe yes, come on Iiyama deliver them damn monitors!

So that means I've been allocated one :D Is badass responsible for monitor procurement? I've seen him posting in the monitor forum and wondered whether he had a a better idea on when they may arrive.

I got a webnote answer amounting to "no info" on when they were arriving. Would like to build this at the weekend, guess I should be patient but the excitement of new toys is hard to control.
