Large screen gaming - Overrated?

I love playing BF3 on triple screens, aswell as most other games that support it pretty well.

Although as somone has suggested Console is always better on Big TV and sofa with mates.

27"Samsung P2770 HDTV, but use it as a monitor (sit close etc), can't imagine being back as if it was a normal telly playing games, use to do that with my 360 and a projector but for PC gaming it destroys immersion.

For Pc gaming, I find it very overrated playing on a big screen - I don't know why. In the not so distant past I was using a 100" projector screen which was okay for a few games and at this very moment I have my pc plugged into the Plasma (50") but nothing beats a decent Pc monitor. Currently using an old 24" pc monitor but going to get a 30" soon I think :)

I have tried it and I have to say, personally, I feel more immersion when sat up close to the monitor.

Maybe old habits die hard?

Maybe I am doing it wrong but it just does not feel as immersive, I do not feel as "connected" to the game.

I'm the opposite. Can't go back to a small monitor for gaming.

I've tried gaming on a 24" 1080p but I'm using a 21.5" 1080p now which feels better for some reason, yeah I also don't feel immersed on the larger screen.

I'm sitting about 3 feet away and I think its better because you get more of the image beamed into your line of sight without glancing around as much.

1440p at 23' would be lovely

I use a 23" screen for gaming and wouldn't want to go much larger for FPS etc.
My PS3 is hooked up to a TV 4x the size which is good for driving games like GT5.
