Larger SSD needed

I've been looking at the Mushkin Callisto deluxe SSDs recently. They seems to give similar performance for a smaller price.

I've just ordered the 120GB version so I don't have any personal experience with them yet however the specs and reviews all look good.
 
why not get some realy fast 1tb drives and whack them in raid , i realy don't get this ssd stuff, all i know is that there like large memory sticks ;)

They have a quicker read/write time than Raptor's and rather than relying on the magnetic disk revolutions, they are like memory sticks so data picking times are reduced significantly even from raptor's.
Yes, they have a lot less storage space, but they are new tech and it will grow rather rapidly and prices will drop soon as they are dropping already.

Wait....

Seriously consider just waiting until the launch of the next gen of SSD drives. Not only are they supposed to offer better value for money in terms of price / size they are also going to have a much much greater MTBF.

I would not consider spending a large amount of money as you are on such a technology when the next generation is reasonably close to being released.
