Laser Eye Surgery !

Just another update. I had my one month post-op check up yesturday.

I'm well into 20/20 and given time to focus I can read not only the 20/15 line but also the 20/10 line below.

I hardly have to use the eye drops for dry eyes anymore either.

Very happy :)

Does anyone know if there is a site or report on the success rate between the different methods and/or sites. Or is it just a matter of phoning up and asking for such details?
Has anyone had it done recently on finance? if so if you don't mind what rates are you paying?

spike sounds like you ad a good experiance so could you please tell me where you got it done? the idea of these high street clinics *cough*opitimax*cough* dosnt appeal to me whatsoever :P cheers mate

I had Intralase with wavefront at Optical Express in The Trafford centre yesterday, the surgery did hurt at all and was really fast, bit of pain after but nothing that the pain killers didn't stop.

Also went for the 10 months interest free as well.

Really happy with the service from Optical Express.

my dad has his done 2 weeks ago

-10 and -14, astigmatism, old age myopia

can see perfect now :)
they set his eyes at a slightly different prescription to counter the myopia

Had mine done last year at Optical Express in Newcastle, was flippin' brilliant, best £2500 I've spent in a long time.

Eyesight is 20/20 and I just can't ever imagine wearing glasses or contacts ever again.

Definitely recommend it to anyone.

Had mine done in 2004 - four years now, perfect vision from day one. Only hurt a bit (headaches - not eye pain) for a couple of days. Bit blurry for a fortnight. Now solid.

Best money I ever spent. Do it.

Can you drive after the consultation (ultralase) ?
I seem to be finding mixed info. Some people say your vision is very blurry for several hours, some say it's fine.

If it's the 'proper' consultation with the deep eye scan and the anaesthetic drops etc then I'd say no I wouldn't have been comfortable driving straight away. Your vision is likely to be blurry and you'll be very light sensitive for a few hours at least (take shades!). I just got the train rather than drive...
