What sort of mouse sensor do you like? Are you a high DPI gamer, or super low DPI for massive mouse swipes?

Windows DPI : 800
Game DPI : 800

My latest mouse is Optical.

I'm not overly fussed what the tracking method is as long as it produces good results. The optical in the Deathadder 2013 is considered to be very good, hence why I went for it. If it offered the same performance in laser, so be it! 1800DPI, standard out of the box windows sens. Would probably consider myself to be quite low sens, not hugely but probably much closer to low than high!

I've found optical a lot better, on both my EC2 Zowie and CM Storm Xornet for FPS games in particular.

It just feels much smoother and more accurate using an optical mouse with a low DPI to me. In other game types, as well as in windows.

I run my EC2 at 2300 at DPI, and my Xornet at 2000 DPI.

g400 3600 dpi.

I find lasers are picky about their surface while optical always works. I'm not really sure why we have moved on to worse tech.

I like to have ~1cm to move my mouse across the screen horizontally, and primarily play RTS games.

Ah I get what you mean about different dpi for windows and games now.

I just leave mine the same at 2000dpi which feels like a sweet spot to me then simply adjust the ingame sens using the game options.

I'm not overly fussed between the two.

However my DPI for pretty much all games is set at 800. Especially in FPS's, the accuracy gained by having to do bigger mouse swipes works nicely for me. Every now and then I will go up to 1600 if I'm having a good day and fancy some extra aiming speed.

Changing dpi messes with my muscle memory.

I stick to one setting.
