Has to be optical - never found a laser mouse that doesn't struggle with pick up and is overly twitchy.

Still rocking the WMO1.1a - ~400dpi w/ MarkC's accel fix ( Windows_7_MouseFix_TextSize(DPI)=100%_Scale=1-to-1_@6-of-11 ).

Game and hardware dpi set 1:1.

Need a replacement really but never found a mouse that has the right size and shape and a decent optical sensor to replace it :(

I thought optical was phased out and laser took over? /shrug

My Corsair M90 is a laser and DPI is set to 5000, 5700 is max but it causes lag so had to dial it back. My old Roccat Kone+ was 6000 DPI and I ran it at 6000 DPI.

I used to run a low DPI and use higher sensitivity in game, but a friend said it's better to use a high DPI and lower sensitivity in game.

Why would optical be phased out? It offers far superior sensors at lower sensitivities.

LASER predominantly took over after companies realised they could sell mice based on "having all teh DPIs!!!!!!one!!!".

I run my rat 7 at full 6400dpi and then turn down all software and acceleration responsiveness in games, windows etc. I find using the hardware control in the mouse to be a little more consistent between games that way

Razer Deathadder 3.5G infrared (optical I assume :p )

Freq 1000Hz Response 1ms
DPI 1800
Windows DPI in the middle
all acceleration turned off everywhere

in game DPI.... uhhhhh usually turn it down pretty far.... mates still say it's wayyy more sensitive than what they use xD
