Hey,

We've got a Xerox Phaser 6120 here, and the display is showing "Imaging Unit Out" - however it seems to be printing perfectly fine!

On the web management thingy, it's showing usage as:

Total Pages
Color: 1879
Monochrome: 8343

However, in supplies status it shows:

Imaging Unit
45000 Images Max
(or 11250 Color Pages)

So it seems like the unit still has plenty of life left in it! Is there any adverse effect if we keep using the same unit until it actually dies? Or will this use up more ink, decrease print quality etc? We have a new unit on standby, but just trying to work out if this is a scam by Xerox to sell more consumables!

Cheers,

Su

at 10,000 pages there is no way that should be out but some of these printers have some counters that count pages and automatically state you need new consumables.

Ignore it , I am great believer in changing consumables when your print quality starts to go and not before.
