Last check before ordering

Hey folks. So i'm about to order some new parts for my PC, preferably today. I just wanted to check one last time if i'm making the correct decision, or any other ideas people could come up with. I'm only upgrading my Mobo+CPU+RAM today, and later on replacing my GPU. This is what I currently have:
ASRock H81 PRO BTC
i5-4460
16gb HyperX Savage DDR3 RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 970
Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250gb
1TB SSHD
Antec VPF550 550W PSU

So I was going to go with the Ryzen 2700x, as I primarily play WoW(upgrading for new expansion) and Battlefield 1, whilst doing a lot of browsing and on Skype most of the time. Play other things too like Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, Skyrim etc, but I was advised Ryzen 2700x would be the best option.
I have no idea about what motherboard to pair with it though, or RAM for that matter.

Could someone give me a potential basket?

Or if there is better options, like if you believe i7-8700k is better for example, leave a basket for that too. I just heard with the Ryzen not needing a new mobo later on to upgrade down the line, and comes with a decent cooler, I wouldn't need to invest in those things as I might have to with Intel.

Yeah, I know I wouldn't NEED to upgrade, but I want everything to be better, not just in WoW but across the board. I can't play BF1 without bad stutters, and I'd like to be able to play WoW without the majority of my settings turned down. You think I'd be better off with Ryzen 2700x or the I7-8700k? Would you mind putting some baskets together including mobo/RAM? I really have no idea about motherboards.
 
I would get a used 4790K and a new GTX 1070.
The 4790K is still a very good CPU. In which case you can really zap up the PC for about £100. Add in a GTX 1070 which is HUGELY faster than a 970. End result is a far more powerful PC for less than the price of a new cpu/mobo/RAM.
 
If you really wanted a new core upgrade and ryzen 2600 and save some cash

Intel would get you the higher FPS though
And GPU more so , but would do little to help in large raids

You won't reach 4000mhz, but it will allow for 3200-3600mhz with tighter timings, which benefits Ryzen a lot, as seen seen below:

Gonna be honest, this means very little to me. I've never tinkered with stuff like that, only ever slightly overclocked and someone else did that for me. Most i've actually done is take CPU/GPU apart and apply new thermal paste. I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff.

If not, slap in team group 3200hz or 8 Pack 3200hz version but does cost !

If I was to go with the AMD Ryzen 7 Eight Core 2700X 4.35GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail, right now I have it paired with Asus ROG Strix B350-F Gaming AMD B350 (Socket AM4) DDR4 ATX Motherboard and Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C14 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit - Grey . Is this okay? Should I change anything? Is there a slightly more expensive but overall much better motherboard? Same thing with the RAM? I feel kinda set on the Ryzen 2700x, and later upgrading to a 1070 or 1070ti.

I'd suggest faster RAM, as Ryzen really benefits higher speeds

It depends on the app/game, but going from 2400mhz RAM to 3600mhz can result in gains of 10-15% - so fairly large.

Alright then, so if I go with the same motherboard + Ryzen 2700x and the 3200mhz RAm linked above, you think that's all good then? Literally about to press confirm order :P

Strix/hero is a lovely looking board but for the price is such a bad piece of hardware .
Compare to Aorus 5 which is cheaper. Lacks second m.2 slot, lacks bluetooth 5 and latest Gen WiFi which if youve got a BT Smart/Home Hub 6 is a perfect match .
Sound quality is also better onnaorus due to DACs .

Do love building with Asus boards as of you can pick them up from Distribution they are £50 cheaper and make a killing on selling systems with them in :D

The above list, should all be plug and play. The 4000hz kit ram is damn good money listed above , but sound like you don't want to tinker and play with settings to much - with testing on top . Plug the above in, set DOHC to 3200/profile One and ram is set to go .
