Have you guys been watching this ? its awesome, been following it since it started on BBC3. Very interesting and educational, some of the worlds tribes have extremly ancient rituals, interesting stuff ! what you guys think ?
 
Some of the guys on it are annoying as hell. The creators obviously wanted a contrast of characters (the public school boy, a spiritual guy, the bad boy etc) but it doesn't work that well in my opinion. Also, I don't rate Hammond as a narrator.

However, some of the challenges are pretty interesting.
 
I watched the one were they had to run the marathon through the hills, and the one where they had to wrestle. Pretty good imo.
 
the killing of the goat in mongolia was pretty harsh (slit its chest hand into chest cavity, find heart and rip out arteries and bleed to death)

I enjoyed deeing the yank BMX dude off his face on those nuts last night
 
excellent programme. Watched the last one the other night where the overall winner was announced.

Some mega interesting combat skills throughout this world
 
Saw it for the first time last night, was pretty good.

I was wincing when that guy put the axe into his toe, then was just :eek: when he came out onto the cricket pitch at the end, foot all bandaged up, and smacked the ball about everywhere!

damnit, i knew i missed something last night :(

The only one i saw was the kick-fighting one, and it looked pretty good.

Actually i DID rate Hammond as a commentator, did pretty well in my eyes/ears!

I quite like it, i dont go out my way to watch it but it always seems to be one when nothing else is.

yea i didnt like that bit either, and pulling out the poor lambs balls :(
 
I think Hammond's great - basically his usual tongue-in-cheek style.

I absolutely hate that prat Raijko, he's a complete nancy boy and seems to complain about everything. Mark is also unbelievably poor for someone who's supposedly a kickboxer.

My faves have to be Richard, despite him being a bit pants at most things and Brad ('That's right, I'm Brad').

Great show and the sort of thing I'm surprised to see on the BBC.
 
Like the comments, yeah I also rate hammond as a narrator, suits his voice for this kind of thing. The killing of goats/pigs etc while obviously graphic in many ways doesnt bother me at all as they were killing it to eat it, which is fair game. Also didnt like Raijko at 1st, but he's coming across much better now, his attitude to what he does is right. Watched every single one so far, how did the guy earlier in this thread see the final ? dont think its been broadcast yet ? :confused: Over all I think Raijko or Brad will win, next weeks one looks awesome, another wrestling game but with guys as big as brad !, think the others will get there ass kicked :D
 
Really enjoying this atm! Somehow have managed to catch them all too. I really dislike a couple of the guys on it, Brad really grinds me...I think its the fact he actully believes he is a superhero....maybe actually doing as bad in everything as he is when it doesnt involve power will knock him back into place a little!
 
I quite like Raijko, he is incredably strong and fit but looks pretty normal to boot. He will probably win in the end if the kickboxer/dancer doesn't.

I love the description of brad though. "He has an anger management problem. It's a beautiful thing" (or something like that). :D

Yeh tell me about it! I've watched every one from the start, pretty good and intresting. The Zulu stick fighting was definalty a good one, and the Mongol Wrestling was rubbish, wonder whats tonite?? By the way its on every Tuesday @ 9.00pm on BB3 for the people who are not sure when its shown. They show repeats but not sure when.

He holds the record for the most dumbell presses done with like a 25kg dumbell i think, somthing like 675 in a row! :eek:
 
I watched the episode when they cut their legs with parana teeth, then used salt and something else on the cuts - must have bloody hurt...
Haven't seen any other episodes.
