• Competitor rules

    Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Last minute check :)

I dont think they will cause an issue. In fact I think they only stick up at the top a few mm. I could maybe try to take a pic of mine fitted if that would help you at all to try to gauge its true size?

In fact I have one from my build, does not really show the height though:

Hmm unless I am looking at it wrong, the extra £30 is not worth it. Seeing as VTX version runs everything at decent FPS anyway.

But hey I might be wrong lol

toxic advantages:

1)cooler dumps air outside the case(thus loser inner case temps);
2)better components thus better overclocker;
3)unlocks to 6970(tho not guranteed(you may be one of the unlucky one);
4)unlocked and overclocked gives 580 level performance for fraction of the price.

sure there are more but can't think right now, I say if you're spending £200 why not go for the best in the price range(await the nvidia fanboys bringing the 570 into this).

one thing I heard thou - is the fan at full tilt is loud on the toxic

Single worst time to buy, with replacements due in the next month, these will be on EOL pricing in 2 months at almost half the cost, or you can get hugely more performance, less power usage, quieter for the same money.

If you assume a GPU will be out for say a year before being replaced, and its £200 on launch and £200 a week before the new gpu is out, that suddenly brings 80% more performance at the same price, and a 40-50% drop in price on the old cards......... buying in the first month will get you the best value for your money, buying in the last month the worst value.

Wait a month, get a new gen card, or a current gen card at WAY less. Terrible time to buy, really really terrible.

All those leaks said late Q4 2011, so they will not be out next month. Most likely late November, mid December for low and mid range and early 2012 for high end.

Buy now and be happy. Can always sell the 6950 and still get a good price as the 7 series (as with all new releases) won't be cheap.

Great price for a great card. You shouldn't be disappointed!

There is always something around the corner. Ignore drunkenmaster, buy now and enjoy your new card.
